With an eye to showcasing filmmakers around the globe with authenticity, vision, and purpose, the Lake Travis Film Festival is a destination for cultural tourists and the film industry.
We're getting ready for the intimate discussions, exhilarating after parties, and unparalleled access to some of the most exciting venues in the Lake Travis area to make this festival a destination for filmmakers and a cultural enhancement for our community. In addition to the juried slate, there will be a showcase for young filmmakers to screen their work.
Creating a celebrated annual event, to screen films, educate, and bring together the film-loving community has been a labor of love for our dedicated volunteers.
Festival Updates from Kat

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I highlight some of Lake Travis Film Festival’s accomplishments over the past few months. This organization was started with one part enthusiasm and at least two parts naivety. I believed in the power of the Lake Travis community and knew at least a few people were craving more than great schools and amazing views of the lake and hill country.
Just a quick recap and some kudos to toss around. We now have over 75 founding members. This exclusive group will be capped at 100. Spread the word and encourage friends and neighbors to sign up. You’ll not only have bragging rights of being in on the ground floor, but you’ll have full membership benefits valued at $250 through our first festival or your renewal date, whichever comes last.
Much of our energy continues to be focused on submissions. We have received over 90 submissions to date on FilmFreeway. While we have a lot of Texas entries, we’ve also received films and scripts from across the globe. Filmmakers and screenwriters young and old have compelling stories to tell and we are extremely pleased with our responses. We have attended filmmaker meet-ups in Dallas/Ft. Worth & Austin and will be traveling to San Antonio this month for “Meet Lake Travis Film Festival” events.
We are pursuing opportunities with companies and other nonprofits to partner on specific content to the Festival. This is taking sponsorship and community building to a new level. If you know of area businesses who would like to get involved, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with our sponsorship and outreach committee.
It is certainly the challenge of a lifetime serving as executive director of this organization. I am heartened by the over 50 volunteers who have stepped up to help lay the groundwork and work the 4 day festival. We have a great Board and Committee Chairs. I look forward to continuing to build out the leadership team and organization to ensure the continued success of Lake Travis Film Festival as we “Count Down to ONE!”
PS...we’ve been working to migrate this web site to a WordPress platform which will be more robust moving forward. Check it often, we’re adding events and new features daily.
